Senators urged lawyer Lorenzo “Larry” Gadon to verify his claim that a certain businessman is planning to bribe members of the Senate with an amount of P200 million to acquit Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno.
Senators Sherwin Gatchalian, Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito, Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, Grace Poe, all said that no one has come to them to ask such request.
Gatchalian challenged Gadon to name the businessmen, adding that Gadon’s statement is an unfounded accusation.
Lacson warned the public to not believe Gadon, stressing that most of what he says is pure hearsay. He added that it simply be Gadon’s strategy to put the senators on the spot if and when the articles of impeachment will be given to the Senate.
“It’s like he’s already putting us on the spot so we will convict rather than acquit,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ejercito stressed the Senate’s different culture, and said he is sorry to those thinking of bribing senators because they do not accept those actions as they are sensitive to the pulse of the people.
As for Poe, the senator vowed to not let bribery happen in the Senate.
“Our actions would be visible to the public. And I also believe the public will know if the case has enough merit and truth. This is not about money and I will oppose any moves who would attempt to bribe for or against,” she said.

Yan si Gadon na nangdadamay lang alam niya kasi na buking na siya ng mga senador kaya ayan gumagawa ng issue.Pati pa si Senator Poe dinamay susko.
If Gadon thought that he can pull down the name of the Senators to his own miserbale status well in his dreams perhaps. Wala man lang sa kanya maniniwala dahil alam na karakas niya. Try to bribe Senator Grace Poe and I am sure sisikat yan lalo si Gadon dahil mapapahiya lang siya at ibubulgar siya ni Senator Grace.
Oh ayan narinig niyo mismo kay Grace Poe na ni kelanman hindi siya tatanggap ng suhol.She doesn’t even need it hindi naman siya katulad ng iba na gahaman sa pera.
Senator Poe dapat po jan kay Gadon makulong dahil sa lahat ng allegations niya na never naman napatunayan. Pati po kayo dinamay pa akala niya may maniniwala sa kanya.Never! dahil alam ng mga taong bayan na isa ka pong matino at marangal na lider ng bansa
