By , on December 22, 2017

Philippine National Police Chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa on Monday said that Amin Baco, a Malaysian bomber who was trained by slain terrorist Zulkifli Bin Hir or “Marwan” is the new emir of ISIS in Southeast Asia.

Marwan was one of the FBI Most Wanted Terrorists and was killed last 2015 in Mamasapano, Maguindanao.

This information came from Mohammad Ilham Syahputra, an Indonesian militant who was caught last week on Wednesday as government troops continue clearing out possible stragglers of the Maute group in Marawi.

Dela Rosa said they received reports that Amin Baco took over the leadership, replacing Isnilon Hapilon. He added that Baco is not only leader to the remaining Mautes but an “emir of Southeast Asia ISIS.”

According to the PNP chief, Syahputra confessed that Baco was with him during the attack in Piagapo, Lanao del Sur.
