LAOAG CITY — The state-run Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) is set to inaugurate on Friday a newly-refurbished park dedicated to former president Ferdinand E. Marcos (FEM).

Located in front of the administration building of the MMSU main campus in Batac City, the FEM Park features a huge statue of Marcos, honoring his numerous achievements for the country.

According to MMSU president Dr. Shirley Agrupis, the FEM Park was established in recognition of Marcos as a founder of the university.

It will also serve as a techno hub in the province.

The FEM Park inauguration, set on Nov. 24, will become one of the highlights of the investiture of Agrupis as the seventh president and first graduate of MMSU to hold the university’s highest post.

She will serve as MMSU president until July 31, 2021.

FEM Park could have been launched in time for the 100th birth anniversary of the late president last Sept. 11 but park improvement was delayed due to a series of activities earlier hosted by the university. (PNA)
