ZAMBOANGA CITY — The local government has recorded in its “negative list” more than 1,000 business establishments operating in this city.

Benjie Barredo, City Permits and Licensing Division chief, on Friday disclosed that establishments included in the list do not have business permits since they lack the requirements.

Barredo said the establishments that landed in the negative list included eateries, sari-sari stores and malls.

He said among the requirements lacking are documents from the City Health Office, City Engineer’s Office, City Planning and Development Office, Office of the City Environment and Natural Resources, and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

He said these business establishments will be suspended if and when they fail to complete the requirements by the end of this year.

He said they are expecting 8,000 business establishments to apply for renewal of business permits in January 2018.

He said those included in the negative list will not be entertained during the renewal of business permits. (PNA)
