MANILA — PNP head Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa has ordered the “administrative relief” of Northern Police District (NPD) commander Chief Supt. Roberto Fajardo effective Tuesday.

This is line with efforts to ensure impartiality in the ongoing investigation on the death of 17-year-old KianLoyd Delos Santos, who was shot dead in anti-drug operation in Caloocan City last Aug. 16.

In an interview with DZMM, Dela Rosa said Fajardo will be placed at the PNP Admin Holding Unit while the investigation is ongoing.

Earlier, the four officers implicated in the incident were placed under restrictive custody in wake of the ongoing investigations.

These policemen are PO3 Arnel Oares, PO1 Jeremias Pereda, PO1 Jerwin Cruz and their precinct commander, Chief Insp. Amor Cerillo.

The four were earlier ordered relieved over the fatal shooting and now detailed at the National Capital Region Police-Regional Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit pending results of the investigation against them.
