MANILA – The Department of Health (DOH) has recorded 436 new recoveries from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) as of 4 pm. Saturday.
This brings to 421,086 or 91.9 percent the total number of recoveries from Covid-19 in the country.
DOH’s latest Covid-19 case bulletin also stated that the total number of active Covid-19 cases in the country is at 28,047 or 6.1 percent after recording 1,491 new cases.
The DOH said that of the total active cases, 83.4 percent are considered to be mild, 8.8 percent are asymptomatic, 4.9 percent are critical, 2.5 percent are severe, and 0.30 percent is moderate.
The total number of Covid-19 cases is 458,044.
Meanwhile, among the cities and provinces in the country, Quezon City reported the most number of new cases at 129.
This was followed by the province of Rizal with 102, Benguet with 81, Davao City with 75, and Laguna with 54.
DOH also reported the total number of deaths is at 8,911 or 1.95 percent after recording 36 new deaths.
Despite the increase of new cases, the DOH assured that there are enough Covid-19 dedicated beds in different hospitals in the country.
To date, DOH data showed there is 59 percent available Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds, isolation beds have 64 percent availability, ward beds have an availability of 75 percent while ventilators have 81 percent availability.
Meanwhile, the DOH said the national government has not approved any Covid-19 vaccines yet and asks the people to be cautious and to report to proper authorities like the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) in case somebody tries to offer or sell them any Covid-19 vaccine.
It also reminds that minimum public health standards are still being implemented which includes wearing of face mask and face shield, observing safe physical distancing, and frequent washing of hands.
The public is also warned against going to crowded places and if possible to just stay at home.
