Nine-piece band Ben&Ben made it at the top of Spotify’s list of most streamed artist in the Philippines this year.

The Filipino band shared this news on their social media accounts, saying, “You don’t get to # 1 without the hearts of people who lift you up and the stories that connect us all.”

“Thanks for making us the 2020 Top Streaming Artist in the Philippines, on Spotify. this is for all of us,” they added.

Next to Ben&Ben in the list was South Korean boy group BTS, followed by singer-songwriters Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber. Completing the top five most streamed artists in the country this 2020 was South Korean girl group BLACKPINK. The nine-member band was also the most streamed group and most streamed local artist in the country.

Meanwhile, Ben&Ben’s “Limasawa Street” landed at the third spot in the Philippine’s most streamed albums, while their songs “Make It With You” and “Pagtingin” ranked second and third, respectively, in the Philippines’ most streamed local songs, according to Spotify’s 2020 Wrapped.

“Make It With You” was also in third place in the category of most streamed songs in the country.

This came after the band announced that they will be participating at the virtual ROUND 2020 Music Festival on December 6 which will be streamed on Facebook, YouTube, and KBS-1 in Korea.

Ben&Ben released their latest song “Di Ka Sayang” last November 6 which, they said, was about “self-acceptance and embracing who you are.” The song hit the top spot of the Philippines’ Top 50 on Spotify the next day after it was dropped.
