MANILA – The Department of Tourism (DOT) on Thursday announced that three additional hotels have been allowed to operate for staycation in the National Capital Region, which remains under general community quarantine (GCQ), raising the total to 13.
The following hotels have so far secured Certificates of Authority to Operate as Staycation from the DOT:
–Sheraton Manila Hotel
–The Peninsula Manila
–Aruga by Rockwell
–Okada Manila
–Grand Hyatt
–Makati Shangri-La
–Nobu Hotel
–Shangri-La at the Fort
–Solaire Resort
–Edsa Shangri-La
–Joy-Nostalg Hotel & Suites Manila
–Hyatt Regency
–Nuwa COD
To date, there are 28 DOT star-rated hotels in Metro Manila — 16 five-star and 12 four-star.
Under current DOT guidelines, contactless and cashless transactions for taking bookings and payments are mandatory to promote minimal physical contact between staff and guests amid threats of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
Authorized hotels are required to develop staycation packages that are appropriate for the present market demands and conditions.
Staycation refers to leisure activities involving a minimum of an overnight stay in an accommodation establishment that is not used as a mandatory Covid-19 quarantine facility.
