Globe restores mobile services in Albay’s 2 cities,11 towns

MANILA – At least 11 municipalities and two cities in the province of Albay now have access to voice, text, and internet services provided by Globe Telecom (Globe) on Friday.

In an advisory, Globe said these are the cities of Legazpi and Ligao and the towns of Bacacay, Daraga, Guinobatan, Jovellar, Libon, Manito, Oas, Pio Duran, Polangui, Rapu-Rapu, and Sto. Domingo.

“The company’s network operations team has been working day and night to ensure mobile and data services are restored in areas severely affected by Typhoon Rolly, to provide for its customers’ critical communication needs,” Globe said.

In Catanduanes and Camarines Sur, which were also ravaged by Super Typhoon Rolly, it said that the company’s service restoration efforts are also ongoing.

On Thursday, it said that Bato, San Andres, and Virac now have access to voice, text, and internet services in the province of Catanduanes.

On Wednesday, Globe said it has “fully restored” its network in the National Capital Region (NCR), the provinces of Rizal, Batangas, Camarines Norte, Marinduque, Sorsogon, Samar, and Western Samar while its network in Quezon, Laguna, and Masbate were “nearing full restoration”.
