PH reports 540 more Covid-19 recoveries

MANILA – The overall tally of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) recoveries nationwide has risen to 329,111 with 540 new recovered cases reported on Wednesday,.

The Department of Health (DOH) also reported 2,053 newly confirmed cases, bringing the total number of active cases to 38,955.

Of the active cases, about 83 percent are mild, 11.1 percent are asymptomatic, 2.2 percent are severe, and 3.8 percent are in critical condition.

The majority of the newly announced cases are from Caloocan City with 108, Quezon City with 103, Negros Occidental with 97, Benguet with 93, and Rizal with 85 infections.

According to the DOH’s October 27 data, about 1,673 or 6.7 percent out of the 24,970 tested turned out positive for Covid-19.

The DOH, meanwhile, reported 61 new deaths, bringing the death toll to 7,114.

As of Tuesday, the DOH said there is a total bed capacity of 21,300 dedicated to Covid-19 patients.

Available are about 54 percent of 1,900 intensive care unit beds; 58 percent of 13,500 isolation beds; and 65 percent of 5,900 ward beds.

About 78 percent of 2,000 ventilators are in use.
