A pet owner’s journey: from meeting, spending time, to bidding goodbyes

Taking a pet to your home is like adding a new member to your family. Just like pets that are there to support their human pals in every little way they can and just like how people are to their loved ones, they should be more than willing to take on this big responsibility of pet ownership.

Having pets creates a lot of changes in one’s life. The moment they wag their tails in front of their hoomans and step their little paws into their house, expect that their lives will be a wild ride loaded with wholesomeness and thrill.

There are quite a lot of things that individuals have not done or felt before when they do not have pets yet. Well, brace for more adventures now that they have someone who will make them experience things they will never forget… and probably those that they expect less to happen.

  1. Having a furry food buddy

Imagine eating alone and suddenly feeling a strong aura beside you. When you look at it, there are these dazzling eyes suddenly staring at you as if begging for something. Correct, it is the food you are eating, nothing less and nothing more. Pets get to have their own budget for their own food and treats, but apart from these, they also want to have a share with their owner’s food if possible. If their hoomans get to have chicken or salmon for dinner, then the fur babies also get to eat either of the two. Not all humans are generous enough to share their food with others, but if the ones who are asking are these furpals with such pitiful eyes, people would surely not think twice to give them the food as long as it is safe for them to eat.

  1. Shopping for the pets

Going out of the mall carrying big bags with both hands seems to be that a person bought a lot for themselves. This is not always true, especially if the person is a pet owner. Having pets also means bringing more stuff at home simply because pet owners would want them to have things they possibly need (or not at all). There will be space for their pet’s own beds, although these adorable little ones would probably end up sleeping on their hooman’s bed, even taking up a huge space and almost kicking their owners out of the bed. Toys, of course, will not be out of the shopping list, despite having a bazillion of these — ranging from chew toys, ball launchers, squeak balls, plushies, and more — scattered around their house already.

  1. Spending quality time

Not all individuals have the luxury to provide food that is of quality or buy accessories for their pets, but their furpals still chose to stay with them to their heart’s content. It is not these material things that their pets are asking from their human pals; it is their affection and time. It could be as simple as walking with them, teaching them a new trick, having conversations with them even though they speak a different language, playing with them, or trying new things with them, but surely, their pets enjoy every bit of these moments. Perhaps lying down or sitting on the sofa while watching movies could just be a normal thing for humans, but for pets, just by having their hoomans beside them is something they will always hold dear to their hearts.

  1. Collecting memories

No one knows how much time these owners will have their pets, so as long as they can, people want to treasure every moment they have with these precious ones of the family. Most of them would document all the moments that they have shared with their pets, from the day these lovely creatures come into their lives to each day that they make their owners’ lives much better. Wouldn’t it be great to look back on these memories one day and be thankful because all of those moments happened?

  1. Remembering them

As much as humans do not want this to happen, their pets will eventually leave the earthly world. While they deal with the gut-wrenching pain, pet owners would not just let their furpals go without properly bidding goodbye to them. Some would prefer to lie their pets in a pet casket and hold a funeral service for them, hoping to give them comfort as they cross the rainbow bridge. Others, meanwhile, would prefer to have their pets’ ashes in urns or have cremation jewelries such as necklace, rings, and bracelet so they would have something to remind them of their departed member of the family.

Moments that owners shared with their pets will always stay as good memories. From the time that person and their fur pal first met to the very last moment they had with each other, those happy scenarios, even one of them leaves, will forever be part of their stories.
