MANILA – The Civil Service Commission (CSC) on Monday warned the public against unscrupulous individuals pretending to be one of its employees or officials.

In a statement, the agency said it has received reports about individuals pretending to be employees or officials of the CSC or from a certain “Public Complaints Center” who contacts government employees to inform them that an administrative case has been filed against them.

They also instruct the employees to pay a certain amount of money to clear themselves of the charges.

“The administrative cases filed before the CSC are decided through a clearly defined adjudication procedure as provided under the 2017 Rules on Administrative Cases in the Civil Service,” CSC Chairperson Alicia dela Rosa-Bala said.

Bala advised the public to immediately report such activities to the CSC’s Office for Legal Affairs at telephone numbers (02) 8931-8016 and (02) 8931-7935 local 401 to 411 or email ola@csc.gov.ph or to the Contact Center ng Bayan by sending an SMS to 0908-8816565 or email to email@contactcenterngbayan.gov.ph.
