ABS-CBN’s MOR 101. 9 For Life! in Manila will be holding a virtual farewell concert scheduled on Friday, August 28.
Dubbed as “Salamat, For Life,” the concert will be a night of “pasasalamat, saya, at pangako ng muling pagkikita
(gratitude, fun, and promise to meet each other again),” according to the announcement of MOR Philippines – Manila on Facebook.
“KaMORkada, mula naman noong una, lahat ng ginagawa namin para sa iyo talaga. Hanggang sa dulo, para sa ikasisiya mo (KaMORkada, ever since the beginning, everything that we have been doing is really for you. Until the end, it is for your happiness),” it said, along with the hashtag #SalamatForLife and heart emojis in red, green, and blue which represent ABS-CBN’s colors.
Along with MOR’S DJs, notable singers including Ogie Alcasid, Regine Velasquez, Erik Santos, Jed Madela, Yeng Constantino, Moira Dela Torre, Gary Valenciano, as well as, Filipino bands Sandwich, Itchyworms, Moonstar88, 6Cyclemind, Banda Ni Kleggy, Better Days, Gracenote, Imago, The Vowels They Orbit, and Trinidad with Mig Ayesa and Arnel Pineda are expected to appear in the online event to perform.
The concert can be viewed on MOR Philippines – Manila Facebook page and website at 6 p.m.
This comes after the Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday junked ABS-CBN’s petition challenging the cease and desist order that the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) issued after the media giant’s franchise expired last May.
The High Court said they dismissed the petition on the ground of mootness, citing the “supervening denial of the pending House Bills for the renewal of ABS-CBN Corporation’s legislative franchise” in July.
