The Congress’s decision to not allow ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal is not just going to affect the television industry as the corporation also holds different departments and units outside television like radio FM station 101.9 My Only Radio (MOR). DJ Chacha took to Instagram her farewell.
Posting an artwork by Katring Loyola depicting a lonely girl hugging the logo of the Kapamilya network on Thursday, the “brokenhearted” Czarina Balba, known by her screen name DJ Chacha, shared one of her “lowest points of my life” as MOR will only stay on air until August 31.
“I still can’t believe I have to say goodbye to my first love. My forever love. My dream job,” she wrote, adding that she worked at MOR for 12 years.
“This is not just work for me. This not just about money. I LOVE THIS STATION SO MUCH,” she continued.
On DZMM’s Failon Ngayon, the 32-year-old anchor also on Thursday revealed that after graduating from college, her first job is at MOR.
“Masakit na mawalan ka ng trabaho, pero mas masakit na ‘yung istasyon na ipinuhunan mo ‘yung pawis mo, bago kami naging number one FM station, ‘yung hirap na pinagdaanan ng buong MOR team (It hurts to lose your job, but it hurts more to see the station you invested your hard work on, the hardships of the whole MOR team before we became the number one FM Station [close down],” an emotional DJ Chacha shared on Thursday.
She added that because of the pandemic measures, they are also not allowed to comfort each other physically despite the heartbreaking situation.
On a lighter note, DJ Chacha believes that the Lord has a good plan for all of them.
“Mahirap magpasaya ng nagdurugo ang puso pero kakayanin naming ito (It is hard to make others happy despite our bleeding hearts but we will push through with it.) We will give our best!,” she wrote.
“Last 45 days para magpasaya mga (to spread joy to) kaMORkada. Last 45 days to say ‘MOR 101.9 my only Radio For Life!’” she ended her post.
