MANILA – The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday recorded no new death from the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) as the total number of cases in the country soared to 51,754.
“No additional death reported today. The total cases reported may be subject to change as these numbers undergo constant cleaning and validation,” the DOH said in its case bulletin.
It added that out of the 1,395 new infections, 211 are “late” or results belatedly reported that were only verified recently, while 1,184 are “fresh cases” or results released to the patients within the past three days.
Of the fresh cases, 390 are from the National Capital Region (NCR), 243 are from Region 7 (Central Visayas), 484 are from other regions and 67 are repatriates.
Meanwhile, 53 of the late cases are from the NCR, 47 are from other regions and three are repatriates.
The DOH also reported 225 new recoveries. To date, the total number of recoveries nationwide is 12,813, while the death toll remains at 1,134.
The DOH said there are 37,627 Covid-19 active cases nationwide.
As of Wednesday, the DOH has 14,713 total bed capacity dedicated to patients with Covid-19.
Occupied are about 49.43 percent of 3,330 ward beds; 43.78 percent of 10,888 isolation beds; and 43.32 percent of 1,295 intensive care unit beds.
There are 1,993 total ventilators for Covid-19 patients with about 22.18 percent in use.
In the facilities of Local Isolation and General Treatment Areas for Covid-19 cases (Ligtas Covid) across the country, some 46,770 beds are dedicated to Covid-19 patients.
Meanwhile, some 3,193 beds are dedicated to Covid-19 patients in Mega Ligtas Covid facilities.
