The 4th annual Canada Day Drumming Celebration is moving online due to COVID-19 and physical distancing. Legacy 150 Celebrations Society is fortunate to be able to continue with the celebration virtually while many long-standing summer events were forced to cancel this year.
In view of the pandemic, we are celebrating Canada’s 153rd birthday in a new format with two purposes:
• To celebrate Canada Day (virtually) http://canadadaydrumming.com/ in an interactive way; and
• To salute healthcare and frontline workers who have given so much to keep us safe.
Encouraged by the overwhelming support, this year’s celebration will cover 10 Provinces and three Territories across 6 time zones. Many cities have answered our call and we are targeting 1000+ participants, first-come-first-served, no drumming experience required.
The event will be broadcast on July 1, 2020, from 10:00 AM to 11:15AM (PDT) with a 6-minute simultaneous drumming at 11am (PDT). It can be viewed live on the website as well as on Facebook and YouTube Live.
