MANILA – The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) has yet to receive any report of damages caused by the magnitude-5.5 earthquake that rattled Leyte early Monday.

“There is still no feedback yet. Assessment is still ongoing,” NDRRMC executive director Ricardo Jalad said in Filipino when asked by reporters on whether the agency has already received reports of damages regarding the 5:19 a.m. temblor.

He added that they are not expecting any damages as the earthquake was not that strong.

Also, there are no reports yet of casualties related to the earthquake, Jalad said.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the temblor was tectonic in origin and has a depth of 9 kilometers.
