MANILA — A 29-year-old Filipino woman in Hong Kong has tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said on Thursday.
In a statement, the DFA said the Hong Kong Health Department has informed the Philippine Consulate General about the patient – the second confirmed case of Covid-19 in the Chinese territory.
“The Consulate immediately called and had a brief conversation with the patient to ascertain her condition. She is in good spirits and said she no longer has fever and that she is well taken care of but hospital visits are not allowed given that she is in isolation,” the DFA said.
It added that the patient requested some personal items from the Consulate and that her identity be kept secret.
According to the consulate, the first Filipino who tested positive of Covid-19 will be released within the week provided that her test results remain negative.
“The Consulate will continue to closely monitor the condition of all our nationals and render all necessary assistance to them,” the DFA said.
