The wedding bells have rang and the knot has been tied. And Matteo Guidicelli is just on cloud nine now that he and long-time partner Sarah Geronimo have been pronounced as man and wife.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, February 26, Matteo looked back to the fated date of February 2, 20, 2020. “A day full of pure love, honesty and genuine emotions. Yes, we got married. Mr. and Mrs. Guidicelli,” he wrote.
The couple is known for being private about their relationship and Matteo emphasized on this by saying that they “decided to keep everything as intimate as possible because of private matters.” Regardless, he described that they are overwhelmed with joy, love, and excitement for the beginning of their life together.
Matteo did not forget to thank each and everyone who were part of their love journey pertaining not only to their friends and family but even to “everyone on social media.”
It can be recalled that the secret wedding became the talk of the town not only because of the “rumored” date, but also because it involved the supposed ‘intervention’ of Sarah’s mother who’s known to be strict. It also became controversial when reports surfaced that Matteo allegedly punched Sarah’s bodyguard, Jerry Tamara.
The actor did not let that part slip in his Instagram caption.
“That evening was almost perfect until some unexpected events took place, but don’t worry I never ‘punched’ anyone. I will forever stand up and protect my wife just as how my father would protect my whole family,” he wrote.
He also thanked his family for “loving Sarah like a daughter” and welcoming her to their family.
Matteo ends his post with a happy note, just acknowledging that he and Sarah are happy and blessed.
“In time, with God’s grace and Love, everything will heal and fall into place,” he said.
Just in time for all these happy vibes, Matteo was also all-smiles in his very first-ever press appearance as a husband.
In the event on Wednesday, Matteo told the press that “these are the best days of my life. The best times. We are blessed.”
ABS-CBN also had an exclusive interview with him, in which he underscored their gratitude “to the public, those in social media, for all the good wishes and all the congratulatory notes.”
He hinted that they are still planning to have a grand church wedding, but he said in the same interview that, “One day, when everything settles down.”
For sure, the date will be a secret as well. Despite all the secrecy and controversy, it cannot be denied that the newly-weds are just the happiest right now.
