Kapamilya actor Matteo Guidicelli confirmed the biggest news in the entertainment industry on Friday, that he and pop star Sarah Geronimo tied the knot in a civil ceremony.
But along with this confirmation, he rebuffed media reports about him punching his now-wife’s bodyguard at their wedding rites held in a hotel in Bonifacio Global City.
“Wala akong sinuntok (I did not punch anyone),” Guidicelli told ABS-CBN News’ Mario Dumaual, as he expressed gratitude to those who sent them well wishes.
It was reported that Geronimo’s bodyguard, Jerry Tamara, told Taguig police that he was punched in the throat by the 29-year-old actor who accused him of informing Divine, Geronimo’s mother who is known to be strict when it comes to her daughter, about the couple’s wedding.
Divine was said to appear unexpectedly at the event and wanted to talk to the 31-year-old singer as she had no knowledge about the ceremony.
Although Tamara presented a temporary medical certificate as proof of his injury, he chose not to slap Matteo with formal charges.
Guidicelli and Geronimo tied the knot on Thursday, the same day that the Philippine Star released an article that the two were set to wed “anytime” of that day, according to its “highly-reliable source.”
Speculations about this matter were crushed as social media posts showing that Sarah was on a taping for The Voice Teens.
In The Voice’s Carlo Yanesa’s video which was uploaded on Twitter, the staffer, along with Sarah, were seen greeting netizens a good morning.
Yanesa jokingly wrote in his tweet, “Dito po ba [‘yung] venue (Is the venue here)? Yes invited kame (Yes, we are invited) hahaha.”
Ayan! Good morning daw!

The couple, who have been together since 2014, announced that they were engaged in November 2019.
As of writing, the “Tala” singer has not yet issued any statement regarding the matter.
