Kapamilya actress Kathryn Bernardo is one of PeopleAsia’s “People of The Year” awardees along with 15 other personalities.

The “People of The Year,” according to PeopleAsia, is an annual list of “movers and shakers who stood out and made a difference in their respective fields.”

The 23-year-old actress, the youngest in the list, was described by the lifestyle magazine as “the child star who grew up; the leading lady who, along with real-life partner Daniel Padilla, sent millions of hearts aflutter with her romantic turns in a handful of bankable films.”

Kathryn added this recognition in her long-list of accolades after her recent movie, “Hello, Love, Goodbye,” hit a new milestone at the box office as it was hailed as the country’s highest-grossing film of all time.

“Kathryn Bernardo, armed with a record-breaking P881-million in box office receipts for the top-grossing Hello Love, Goodbye, became the undisputed ‘Box Office Queen’ of her generation,” the PeopleAsia said.

Soon after the magazine’s announcement, Kathryn took to Instagram to express surprise and sincere thanks for her inclusion in the list.

“Somebody pinch me… Is this even for real?!” she wrote.

“Ending 2019 with nothing but a grateful heart. Thank you @peopleasia for including me in your list! I am honored to be featured alongside these inspiring people who continue to make a difference,” she continued.

Other movers and shakers in the Philippine society are Megaworld Corporation’s Andrew Tan, Sta. Elena Construction Corp.’s Alice Eduardo, Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, Senator Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara, Broadway star Lea Salonga, Henann Group of Resorts Chairman Dr. Henry Chusuey, AirAsia’s Sheila Romero, the Philippines’ “Mr. Pure Energy” Gary Valenciano, celebrity doctor Vicki Belo, Okada Manila’s Takashi Oya, Richprime Global Inc. Myrna Yao, Dubai-based Filipino designer Michael Cinco, Chef Jessie Sincioco, Philippine Star Founding Chairman Betty Go Belmonte, and Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso.

The awards will be formally given to the awardees early next year, PeopleAsia said.
