Escape and recapture of inmate from Kwìkwèxwelhp Healing Village

On November 8, 2019 at approximately 7:15 a.m., an inmate escaped from Kwìkwèxwelhp Healing Village, a minimum security federal institution.

The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) immediately contacted the Agassiz detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), and a warrant for his arrest was issued.

At approximately 9:12 a.m. on November 8, 2019, Roger Sampson was apprehended by police. CSC is conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
