4 more senior PNP officials reshuffled

MANILA — Four senior officials were included in the latest reshuffle at the Philippine National Police (PNP) which took effect on Monday.

This came after PNP officer-in-charge, Lt. Gen. Archie Gamboa approved the designation of Brig. Gen. Rhodel Sermonia as the acting regional director of the Police Regional Office (PRO) 3 (Central Luzon).

Sermonia, a member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) 1989, is formerly deputy director of the Directorate for Police Community Relations (DPCR) and former head of the Police Community Relations Group.

Gamboa, meanwhile, designated Brig. Gen. Bartolome Bustamante as acting deputy director of the DPCR.

Col. Julius Segundo Lagiwid was also named as DPCR acting executive officer while Col. Domingo Lucas was designated as acting deputy regional director for administration of the PRO-5 (Bicol Region).

In his recent pronouncement, Gamboa reiterated the latest round of reorganization manifests the continuing reform of the 195,000-strong police force under his leadership.

“This move sustains our campaign to reform the entire organization, as well as our drive against illegal drugs, criminality and lawless violence,” Gamboa said.
