GMA Network unveils an exciting and all-new line-up of primetime shows beginning this September that will bring drama, action, and kilig to the next level!
Kicking off the Kapuso Network’s string of primetime offerings is ‘Beautiful Justice’ beginning September 9. Justice never looked this beautiful as the newest drama-action series is headlined by five of GMA’s prime and most sought-after stars. Multi-talented actress and entrepreneur Bea Binene as Kitkat, Global Endorser Gabbi Garcia as Brie, and 32nd PMPC Star Awards for Television Best Drama Actress Yasmien Kurdi as Alice are brought together by the tragic death of their loved ones. Versatile actor and Kapuso hunk Derrick Monasterio and international model-turned-actor Gil Cuerva take on the roles of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents Lance and Vin, respectively. The series tells the story of three women who will unite to track down the syndicate responsible and seek justice for everything they lost.
On September 16, Kapuso prime actor Alden Richards will once again showcase his acting calibre as he takes on the role of Sep—a visually-impaired fruit vendor in Divisoria who discovers his ability to see the past and the future. ‘The Gift’ centers on hope, transformation, and inspiration. Helmed by LA Madridejos, the drama also stars Elizabeth Oropesa, Mikee Quintos, Jo Berry, Rochelle Pangilinan, Betong Sumaya, Martin del Rosario, Thia Thomalla, Ysabel Ortega, Tetay, and Ms. Jean Garcia.
For their first-ever primetime project, Ken Chan and Rita Daniela are teaming up for ‘One of the Baes’, a millennial fairytale that will take viewers on a voyage of love. Produced by GMA Public Affairs, it will showcase the ups and downs of our Filipino Seafarers through the story of Jowalyn (Rita) and Grant (Ken). Grant is a rich yet kindhearted environmental vlogger while Jowalyn is a brave young woman who dreams of someday becoming the captain of a ship.
Completing the Kapuso primetime slate is the top-rating Korean hit drama ‘Mr. Sunshine’ which centers on a young boy who is born into slavery but escapes to the United States and returns to Joseon later as a United States Marine Corps officer. The much-awaited drama airs on September 2, starring Hollywood actor Lee Byung Hun as Eugene Choi, meets and falls in love with an aristocrat’s daughter named Go Ae-sin, played by Kim Tae-ri. At the same time, he uncovers a plot by foreign forces to colonize Korea. To save his nation, he becomes an instrument in fighting for freedom, alongside the love of his life.
Viewers should also look forward to the return of the much-loved, award-winning romance anthology ‘Wagas’ on September 2—this time around as a daily series airing before Eat Bulaga. Wagas will once again tug at the hearts of Kapuso viewers as it now features stories that will run for one month. For its pilot episode, multi-talented Kapuso actress Sunshine Dizon and Kapuso actor Mike Tan reunite on the small screen for “Throwback Pag-ibig”.
Last but definitely not the least, GMA Network’s musical competition ‘The Clash’ opens its doors once again to all talented Filipinos who want to become the country’s next singing sensation. Every Saturday and Sunday beginning September 21, witness the journey of the Top 64 contenders as they clash to fulfill their dreams. With Asia’s Pop Diva Julie Anne San Jose and Total Heartthrob Rayver Cruz as the newest Clash Masters, they will be joined by returning The Clash judges Asia’s Nightingale Lani Misalucha, Asia’s Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista, and Comedy Concert Queen Ai Ai delas Alas.
