172 families affected by monsoon rains

MANILA — Around 172 families or 768 persons residing in San Antonio town, Zambales were reported affected by the inclement weather, caused by the southwest monsoon and enhanced by tropical depression Hanna.

This was disclosed by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) update, signed and released by Executive Director Ricardo Jalad, 8 a.m. Monday.

Of these, 16 families or 49 persons are now being aided inside and outside one evacuation center.

The NDRRMC also reported that 487 families or 1,867 individuals were pre-emptively evacuated in Regions 3, Mimaropa and the National Capital Region (NCR).

The NDRRMC said 420 areas in Regions 3, Calabarzon, Bicol Region, Western Visayas and NCR experienced floods.

In the same report, the agency also revealed that floods in 182 areas have already subsided.
