After three months in the United States in order to get multiple surgeries for her dislocated right index finger, Kapamilya actress Liza Soberano has returned to Manila on Monday, July 22 – greeted by on-screen partner and real-life boyfriend Enrique Gil and loved ones.
The 21-year-old actress initially posted two photos at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport to her 10.2 million followers captioned, “So happy to be home.” For the grandest welcome, Liza was surprised with gold and pink balloons, streamers, and petals at her home accompanied by a sign held up by her closest family and friends that read, “Welcome home Hopie.”
With a black cast spotted wrapped around Liza’s right hand, her doctors confirmed that the actress will not be able to return to the industry at least for the next two months as she is advised from refraining from physical activities, like sports, carrying objects with the operated hand, and sweating.
The root of Liza’s operations was from an injury doing stunts during her role for “Bagani,” which was a fantasy series shown on ABS-CBN. Her manager, Ogie Diaz, confirmed that the network paid for all of the actress’ hospital bills, as the injury was so severe, it prompted her to give up the iconic Filipina superhero role of Darna last April. With 20-year-old Star Magic artist Jane de Leon recently besting out three hundred auditionees and recently being announced to fulfill her shoes, Liza is nothing but pleased, stating, “I messaged [Jane] as soon as I found out and told her if ever she feels the weight of responsibility bestowed upon her she can always talk to me. I’m so happy for Jane De Leon and Star Cinema. I believe she embodies everything Darna possesses. Beauty, brains, strength, empathy and kindness.” She adds, “I’m so excited for her career and to watch the movie! I can already feel Darna’s success.”
