After reports of three arrested in San Pablo, Laguna last Tuesday, July 16, former SexBomb Girls member Sheena Joana Uypico takes to social media to clarify that she was not involved in a drug scandal and that one of the suspects simply possess her same name.
Headlines circulated last Tuesday, July 16 when the Laguna Police Provincial Director Colonel Eleazar Matta shares that a 34-year-old woman named Sheena Uypico was under authorities alongside her younger sister Melrose Uypico and Elmer Panaligan Senoreses, who possessed more than P40,000 worth of shabu. Along with the drugs, the Laguna Police, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Region, and the San Pablo City Drug Enforcement Team got a hold of P1000 buy-bust cash, an Oppo mobile phone, a Toyota Corolla Sedan suspected to be involved in the trade, and P4000 money; which led to the three suspects being detained in a San Pablo City cell after being evaluated at the Provincial Crime Laboratory Office at Camp Paciano, Rizal.
However, now a flight attendant for United Airlines and residing in the United States with her husband and daughter, Sheena of the SexBomb Girls denies all rumours that it was her who was involved in the arrest. She shares, “There are articles floating around about me getting arrested for illegal drugs in the Philippines and it’s not true.” She adds on her Instagram stories with a photo of the headlines, “And why do you have to use my photos from 8 years ago? Hope you at least used my latest one.”
In a separate interview with GMA News Online, Sheena shares her “shock” at the circulating news, stating, “I currently reside in the United States, not in Laguna. I do plan on seeking legal advice regarding this matter.”
Initially, GMA already denied Sheena’s involvement with the crime, saying, “We don’t know [the lady arrested] and she’s not a member of the Sexbomb Dancers.”
