MANILA – President Rodrigo R. Duterte on Tuesday administered the mass oath-taking of newly-elected senators and local officials endorsed by the Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) in the recent mid-term polls.

The two mass oath-taking rites were held in Malacañang, a day after Duterte joined the HNP Thanksgiving party at the Manila Peninsula Hotel in Makati City.

Those who took their oath as senators were re-elected senators Cynthia Villar and Sonny Angara, returning senators Pia Cayetano and Bong Revilla, and Senators-elect Imee Marcos, Francis Tolentino and Ronald dela Rosa.

Re-elected senator and Hugpong bet Koko Pimentel is out of the country, according to reports.

Senator-elect Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, who ran under the ruling Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban), also graced the occasion.

The Hugpong’s newly-elected candidates who took also their oath before the President include members of the House of Representatives, local chief executives, and locally-elected legislators.

HNP is a regional political party headed by presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.
