Thirty-year-old Gab Valenciano, the eldest son of Gary Valenciano, shares with his 264,000 followers on Instagram through stories that he was involved in a motorcycle racing accident in Rosario, Batangas last Sunday, June 2, causing a sprained ankle and cervical sprain/spasms while he was participating in the 2019 Philippine Superbikes Championships.

Accompanying a photo of Gab wearing a neckbrace in a hospital bed, he captions, “To those asking, I’m alright. Thank you. At the hospital and recovering. Still waiting for the final assessment, though.”

The internationally-acclaimed dancer explains, “Another rider came out of nowhere and hit me from the rear, so I violently veered towards the barrier, flew across a 10 ft drop and finally was stopped by hitting a tree. But that’s racing and it happens. Sometimes even worse,” adding, “Can’t complain and I’m thankful to God for protecting me still. Thank you to the emergency crew who put in the work to make sure I was okay. Will be back for round 3 next month stronger than ever.” He also asks for prayers from his followers for “another racer who had a terrible crash shortly after. He was unconscious and intubated,” stating, “God be with you, bro.”

Joann Santiago, Gab’s girlfriend, also took to her Instagram stories to show concern and express her gratitude that the injuries were not more severe. In her words to her partner, “Thank God you’re whole and not a single fracture in your body was seen. Almost had a heart attack when you disappeared on the track. Accidents do happen and I thank the Lord for protecting you and for sending you a guardian angel that saved you from serious damage with that kind of crash.” She concludes, “It could have been worse. Love you, please get well very soon.”
