Thirty-four-year-old actress and fashion icon Heart Evangelista was all smiles last Tuesday, May 14 immediately posting a congratulatory message for her husband Chiz Escudero, who is now officially the governor of his home province Sorsogon after winning the electoral race on the same day.
In a post where Chiz declares his proclamation rites, Heart shares to her 3.5 million followers, “Congratulations to my Governor Chiz Escudero! You’ve worked in the senate for such a long time, but now, it’s time for you to concentrate in your beloved Sorsogon, the place which you and your family have loved for years.” She continues, “For the past few months, you’ve told me endlessly about your plans for Sorsogon – developing their tourism, sports programs, health programs, and agricultural industry. I cannot wait to see your visions come to life,” concluding, “Sorsogon, it’s your time to shine!”
Chiz received word that he had the highest number of votes at 303,960 against his top opponent in the race, Bladi Frivaldo, who only received 31,867 on Tuesday morning. The other three contenders received less than 2,000. The numbers were from all 768 clustered precints’ records.
Chiz is replacing Robert Lee Rodriguez as governor of Sorsogon after he ends his Senate term as part of the Nationalist People’s Coalition in June.
Heart and Chiz tied the knot on February 15, 2015, during a private ceremony at the Balesin Island Club. During a recent interview with GMANetwork.com, Heart talks about her husband’s hometown, elaborating, “I love campaign season! It’s very tiring but at the same time, you get to go to a lot of places, you meet people, and I enjoy that.” She even talks about moving to the Bicol province, revealing, “You know I don’t mind having a little house there. I really love goats and I really wish to have a shelter there for dogs. If things turn out the way we want, as much as I can, I really want to help out in the animals there. I don’t mind actually staying there. I really enjoy it there, super!”
