Korean Pop boy group Stray Kids had a successful concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum last Saturday, April 27 for the Manila stop of their tour, surprising fans by introducing themselves in Filipino and delivering a heartfelt message to those affected by the recent earthquake.
During their Unveil Tour ‘I Am,’ the group’s leader Bang Chan told their fandom, named Stay, that “before [they] travelled to the Philippines, [they] were aware,” stating, “We’ve heard about the earthquakes. Honestly, we were very saddened because it’s something… sometimes we don’t expect these kinds of things. For us, the first thing that came to our minds was the Philippine Stay,” adding, “To all those who have been affected, who have been hurting, who are still grieving, we want everyone to recover quickly. And no matter how, we will try our best to help out, so we want you guys to have hope and also find hope through us. So we are always with you guys, okay.” Bang Chan concludes, “Just like Stay stays with us, us, Stray Kids, will stay with you, guys. So don’t look at the past, be well today, and look forward. Because time is ever going, it won’t stop. We will be with you guys forever.”
Bang Chan was joined by members Woojin, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N.
Manila is stop number five for the band’s tour, opening their concert with pre-debut songs “Hellevator” and “Grr,” also performing their latest track “Miroh.” Coming to Manila was sponsored by PULP and Asiana Airlines.
