Go for Gold-CSB acquired another win after sneaking past Batangas-EAC last Thursday, April 4 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig for another 2019 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Developmental League (D-League) match.

Fil-Am Justin Gutang led the way for the Scratchers at 20 points, eight assists, six steals and three rebounds, while Roosevelt Adams also impressed with a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds. Jeremiah Pangalangan was on a roll with his threes as well with 13 points and three rebounds. Yankie Haruna, Prince Carlos, and Robi Nayve all chipped double digits for CSB also, at 13 points, 10 points, and 10 points. Now, the Go for Gold-sponsored squad improves at a 2-3 win-loss record in the Aspirants Group.

For EAC, it was Allan Martin who was the highest pointer with 17 points, while teammate Clark Derige delivered as well with 13 points, seven rebounds, and two assists. Unfortunately, the Batangas-based team still fell to a 1-4 win-loss record.

Despite the win, CSB head coach Charles Tiu was still disappointed with his team’s performance, saying in Filipino, “I’m not happy. We’re up by 17, they thought they were so good. We almost lost this game,” referring to their biggest lead in the first quarter, then committing 28 turnovers throughout the game due to lack of ball protection. He added, “We have to play the right way. We’re gonna get killed if we play this way.”

Coach Charles will try to seek that improvement during Go For Gold-CSB’s next game on April 15 at the JCSGO Gym in Cubao. The Generals will be trying to redeem themselves on the same day, facing AMA Online Education for the first game.
