BALIWAG, Bulacan — Residents of this town and nearby areas can expect upgraded medical health care services following the inauguration of the Baliuag District Hospital in Barangay Sabang here Thursday.

Governor Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado expressed optimism that medical and health care services in the town would improve, and residents of nearby municipalities would likewise benefit.

“What we did today is a witness (to) our accomplishments, and we must be honored, but we hope to maintain order and cleanliness and above all the service of a smile and concern. That is important, the people we serve. And I believe this is what we can see in other district hospitals in Bulacan,” Alvarado said after leading the inaugural rites.

The governor also said a PHP10-million budget has been downloaded for the province’s Malasakit Center by President Rodrigo Duterte. “So, our poor fellow Bulakenyos can apply for zero billing,” he said. “Ours is a public hospital for public service, and this fund will be replenished.”

Dr. Angelito Trinidad, chief of the Baliuag District Hospital, said the project is being realized with the help of the Department of Health (DOH).

“All rooms are fully air-conditioned. It will be comfortable during this summer season. Our outpatient department, consultation and waiting areas are also air-conditioned. We have two units of X-ray; computerized, innovative ultrasound machine from the Department of Health, as well. It is a great help to our dear Bulakenyos,” Trinidad said.

Lorna Silverio; former board member, Ramon Posadas; DOH representative, John Robert Carreon; Bulacan Medical Center chief, Dr. Protacio Bajao; Calumpit District Hospital chief, Dr. Marieta Katipunan; and former Baliuag District Hospital chief, Dr. Eduardo Valencia.
