MANILA — The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Tuesday presented to the media seven Chinese nationals who kidnapped and mauled a fellow Chinese.
The seven suspects, identified as Luo Gen Jin, Cheng Yiguo, Liu Shenghui, Deng Shuijin, Xiong Jinxiang, Xiong Jongpeng and Xiong Jilong, were nabbed in separate operations conducted by NBI operatives in Pasay and Parañaque last March 10.
The suspects were positively identified by the victim Jian Shi Xin as his abductors, who demanded PHP200,000 in exchange for his freedom.
Jian told the NBI operatives that he was abducted at Okada Manila in Parañaque City and was detained and beaten in a room at Balagtas Royale Mansions in Pasay City.
Upon payment of the sum by his brother, Jian was released by the kidnappers near City of Dreams in Parañaque City.
The responding lawmen found five of the kidnappers at the Balagtas Royale Mansions while follow-up operations yielded the two other suspects at Solaire Resort and Casino.
The suspects were brought to the Office of the Prosecutor of Pasay City and were charged with kidnapping and serious illegal detention.
