MANILA — President Rodrigo Duterte’s net satisfaction rating has soared to 74% in the fourth quarter of 2018, according to pollster Social Weather Stations (SWS).
Compared to third quarter survey, Duterte’s gross satisfaction rating rose by 4 points from 70% while “undecided” fell by 3 points from 14% and “dissatisfaction” dropped by one point from 16%.
According to SWS, this gives the President a net satisfaction rating of +60 (% satisfied minus % dissatisfied) which the pollster classified as ‘very good’.
“This is up by 6 points from the very good +54 in September 2018,” it said.
Duterte’s 6-point rise was due to increases of 22 points in Metro Manila, 13 points in the Visayas and 3 points in Balance of Luzon. He suffered a 4-point decline in Mindanao.
The President has received a higher urban net satisfaction rating, registering a huge 22-point increase from +42 points in September.
Duterte’s net satisfaction rating also rose in all socio-economic classes, among both men and women, in all age groups except 45-54, and among high school and college graduates.
The fourth quarter’s survey results gave Duterte an annual average net satisfaction score of +54 or 5 points below the +59 in 2017 but classified also as “very good”.
The survey was conducted from December 15 to 19 using face-to-face interviews of 1,440 adults nationwide.
