TV host Kris Aquino began to take legal action against the alleged ‘betrayal’ and “financial abuse” of a person, who took money from her production company Kris Aquino Cojuangco Productions (KCAP).
She recently announced seeking the help of former Solicitor General Florin Hilbay and Atty. Sig Fortun during a “lengthy meeting” to discuss the next steps in dealing with the case. The social media influencer first shared about the situation in an Instagram post explaining why she has not been active on her accounts in the recent days, sharing, “In the 6 weeks that I quietly suffered because of financial abuse and betrayal we uncovered being done to me by someone I had complete trust and faith in, not to mention the millions he earned from running KCAP and negotiating my endorsements—the stress, inability to eat and sleep properly caused my weight to drop to under 54 kilos.”
This was the caption accompanying a slideshow of photos of Kris, which played with the song “Warrior” by Demi Lovato. The first slide a quote from Christy Ann Martine that read, “I won’t let pain, turn my heart into something ugly. I will show you that surviving can be beautiful.”
Kris also slammed rumors that she will be running for political office in the upcoming months. She shared, “Allow me to firmly say I won’t seek any national elective post in 2019,” looking to focus on her kids.
She ended her statement saying, “I shall pray to stop blaming myself for being made a fool of, because it is a life lesson of knowing when and how much to trust, and how to place safeguards to protect myself and my business interests.”
The name of the person has yet to be disclosed as of writing.
