On August 26, 2018, at about 9:30 p.m., several packages containing contraband and unauthorized items were seized from the medium security yard at Collins Bay Institution.
The contraband and unauthorized items seized included three cell phones, chargers, SIM cards and ear pieces, 1.12 kilograms of marijuana, and eight packages of cigarettes. The total estimated institutional value of this seizure is $115,000.
The police have been notified and the institution is investigating.

CSC also works in partnership with the police to take action against those who attempt to introduce contraband into correctional institutions.
