Uson to get ‘written letter’ over federalism dance video

By , on August 9, 2018

Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson will only get a “written reminder” for the “ethical breaches” she committed in her controversial federalism dance video.

PCOO Undersecretary Lorraine Badoy said this in an interview on One News’ “The Chiefs,” on Wednesday, August 8.

Badoy said that as head of Gender and Development (GAD) of PCOO, Communications Secretary Martin Andanar asked her to issue Uson a “written reminder” for her to “align with the laws regarding gender and development.”

Badoy said that while Uson violated the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees, the only action that PCOO could do is “just to remind Mocha.” She stressed that Uson is a “presidential appointee” and that they cannot fire her because it is a decision that only President Rodrigo Duterte can do.

Badoy admitted that some of them from PCOO were really shocked by the dance video, but despite this, she expressed interest with the way Uson deal with the public, saying “I think Asec. Mocha reminds us of a lot of hypocrisy in our society and she makes us face them, the things inside herself because we’re such a hypocritical society. This is what I find fascinating about Asec. Mocha.”
