Duterte fires entire Nayong Pilipino board, management

By , on August 7, 2018

President Rodrigo Duterte has kicked out the entire board and management of the Nayong Pilipino Foundation (NFP), due to a long-standing lease deal which he viewed as “grossly disadvantageous to the government.”

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a press briefing on, Tuesday, August 7 that the Chief Executive “has announced that he was sacking all members of the board and management of Nayong Pilipino.”

The papers for their formal termination will be issued in due course, Roque added.

The management and board members were fired because of the lease deal, the said deal is still unknown because as of press time Roque did not elaborate yet what the transaction was.

β€œHe cited the case of Nayong Pilipino leased government property for a ridiculous long period of time, 70 years, beyond the lifetime of anyone, and he considered this as a contract which was grossly disadvantageous to the government.”
