MANILA — An investigation will be undertaken on the possible liability of guards at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center after jailed former senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. was able to post “selfie” pics on his social media accounts.
PNP spokesperson, Senior Supt. Benigno Durana Jr., said the PNP Headquarters Support Service is currently investigating the liability of policemen on duty at that time.
“This is a violation of the policies and rules and regulations na ipinatutupad sa ating custodial center (that we are implementing at the custodial center),” Durana told newsmen.
He said if found liable, the policemen involved face possible “relief and at the same time (charges of) neglect of duty.”
“How serious it is could be determined by our investigators. Administrative case definitely,” he added.
Durana said surprise inspections in the custodial center are already undertaken twice a week to guard against the entry of contraband.
Revilla is detained at the PNP Custodial Center for his alleged involvement in the multi-billion peso anomaly involving legislators’ Priority Development Assistance Funds, or pork barrel funds that were supposedly misappropriated under the direction of businesswoman Janet Napoles.
