President Rodrigo Duterte is single, thus, him publicly kissing a married woman should not be viewed as an immoral act, defends his spokesman Harry Roque on Tuesday.
The president is currently in hot waters for kissing a married Filipina named Bea Kim during his official visit to Seoul, South Korea.
“I don’t think there’s anything immoral. After all, the President has reiterated he is single,” Roque said, adding that the only person who has the right to complain of being subjected to humiliation and harassment would be Kim.
“If she’s not complaining, I don’t think anyone else should,” Roque insisted, stressing that the “woman had nothing to say but positive things about the experience.”
For those who felt that the act was offensive, Roque said: “So be it.”
