Chinese bomber aircraft not a cause of alarm, says China

By , on May 22, 2018

Beijing calmed countries who are overly concerned of the presence of Chinese bomber aircraft on an island in the disputed South China sea.

China’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lu Kang said, the “South China Sea Islands” where the bomber aircraft landed and took off are “China’s territory.”

Such activity, Lu added is a part of China’s military training.

“The relevant military activities are the normal training of the Chinese military and there is no need for other parties to over-interpret that”, Lu said.

However, the Philippine government said that even though this move of China may not pose threat to the country’s security for now, this should be viewed as a cause of concern.

Moreover, as for the United States, Lu also said that its concern over “militarization” is a “totally different thing from certain country’s threat to others by sending military vessels and aircraft to this region from thousands of miles away.”
