Solicitor General Jose Calida’s ownership of a major stock in a security agency that has contracts with various agencies in the government and his alleged affair with a young adult has impelled a private citizen to file a complaint against him.
Jocelyn Nisperos-Acosta, a staunch supporter of Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno, has filed a complaint at the Office of the Ombudsman on May 10 over violation of Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act and the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials.
In the complaint, Acosta accused Calida of failing to divest his 60% capital stock in the Vigilant Investigative and Security Agency Inc (VISAI), the security firm which won contracts from the National Economic Development Authority, National Anti-Poverty Commission, Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation, and the National Parks Development Corporation.
The complainant also accused Calida of having an affair with his 22-year-old executive assistant but said she cannot provide strong evidence to support this claim aside from the reports of her sources.
Acosta also sued Calida for his attempt to abolish the Presidential Commission on Good Government, saying that such move showed that he is siding with the Marcos family.
Acosta, failing to give further details only cited the statement of former PCGG commissioner Ruben Carranza to support her claim that Calida is favoring the Marcos’.

One comment on “SolGen Calida sued for graft at the Ombudsman”
Colluda must investigate himself… I wonder if DOLE’s doubling of security agency fees from already steep10 to 20 percent has something to do with the wife’s earnings or was that somebodies’ else’s racket. Maybe most Lapdogs secretly own security agencies..
