PH needs China more than anybody else, says Duterte

The willingness of China to always extend a helping hand to the country made President Rodrigo express his “love” for Chinese President Xi Jinping.

“I just simply love Xi Jinping. He understood, he understands my problem and he is willing to help,” Duterte said before heading to China on Monday for the Boao Forum for Asia.

The president vowed not to say anything negative about China as he needs the country to back his efforts in improving the Philippines.

“I need China. More than anybody else at this time of our national life, I need China. I will not say something which is not true,” he said.

Duterte also likened the relationship of the two countries to a flower which will bloom into something big and beautiful.

Moreover, the president said he is befriending China more for financial support.

“If you do not have money, you are not my friend. I go to China, plenty of money. That’s the truth. I need money,” he said.
