Duterte warns Kuwait of ‘karma’

By , on February 14, 2018

President Rodrigo Duterte warned Kuwait that karma may hit it as payback for all the abuses that the Gulf state has done to Filipino workers.

“You know Kuwait, the world revolves. Sometimes it is fast and sometimes karma could catch you up. When the time comes, you will remember us,” Duterte said before the repatriated workers from Kuwait who arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Tuesday night.

The president reminded the Arab nation of the support the Philippines has given it during the Gulf war in 1990, in which the country provided assistance by sending soldiers and health workers, an aid Duterte said Kuwait did not value.

“Is this the way you repay us? What did the Philippines ever do to you? It served you, and you abuse in return,” he said.

Meanwhile, Duterte assured that the government is ready to ensure that Filipinos will be treated with utmost decency.

The newly arrived repatriated workers received cash worth P15,000 each and grocery bags from the government.

Duterte issued the directive banning Filipino deployment to Kuwait after a dead body of a migrant Filipina worker was found in a freezer.
