OFW advocates to hold summit in PH

By , on January 4, 2018

The struggles that Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) are encountering initiated OFW advocates from all parts of the world to conduct the first-ever summit that will discuss how to better address the different problems faced by Filipinos working abroad.

This would be of most benefit to the ones who are employed as household help as the abuses they have experienced have impelled them to gather as one, Yusoph Admain, an OFW advocate based in Saudi Arabia said.

The OFW Summit will take place on January 7, this Sunday, at the Women’s Center in TESDA Complex, Taguig City from 7 am to 7 pm.

Admain called on other OFW’s who are currently vacationing in the country to join and give suggestions that could empower them, stressing that it is time for them to experience change.

As to the agreements in the meeting, Admain said that it will be forwarded to the Congress and the Office of the President so that it can be reviewed and could be given action.
