Policemen who would be caught pulling the trigger of their guns to welcome New Year’s Eve will be instantly terminated from their positions, Metro Manila police chief Oscar Albayalde said.
Abayalde added that no mercy would be given to policemen who would be caught for indiscriminate firing, as ordered by Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Ronald Dela Rosa.
“There is no reason for you to fire your firearms indiscriminately. There is absolutely no reason,” he added.
On December 24 and 25, two cops were caught for the same offense and are currently facing summary dismissal proceedings at the PNP Internal Affairs Service.
