The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said it welcomes the return of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in the government’s fight against illegal drugs, as ordered by President Rodrigo Duterte.
“PDEA welcomes the decision of the President. It has been the desire of PDEA that PNP will return in the fight against illegal drugs,” PDEA Director-General Aaron Aquino said.
This after the president signed a memorandum circular allowing police personnel to take part again in the government’s anti-drug campaign.
Despite the return of PNP to anti-drug operations, PDEA still remains the overall head of the operations.
