SAN DIEGO — Move over pot brownies.

As the world’s largest legal recreational marijuana market takes off in California, the trendsetting state is set to ignite the cannabis culinary scene.

Chefs and investors have been teaming up to offer an eye-boggling array of marijuana-infused food and beverages, weed-pairing supper clubs and other extravagant pot-to-plate events in preparation for Jan. 1, when marijuana will be legal in California for those 21 and older.

Expect a slew of vegan and gluten-free choices, low-dose pot-laced snacks and dishes from cannabis-rubbed steaks to marijuana-infused tacos. And they may well be served at a cannabis-friendly gym, Pilates studio or an escape room.

Marijuana industry analysts predict that edibles for the recreational marijuana market will top $100 million in sales next year.
