US President Donald Trump lauded President Rodrigo Duterte, including his campaign to combat illegal drugs, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said on Wednesday.
In the bilateral meetings of the two leaders, the US president expressed his positive appraisal in the drug war.
“He keeps on saying that President Duterte is really doing the right thing and he’s fighting the war on drugs in the proper manner. He already said that many times, he says it over and over, especially during their private meetings,” Roque said in a radio interview.
When asked about the stand of other world leaders in Duterte’s drug war, Roque said “the biggest support is coming from President Trump.”
